Business to Arts Award

2001

Mary McAleese, President of Ireland and Patron of Business to Arts, issued Park West with the "Best Commission of New Art” award in 2001.

The judges said, “Harcourt were awarded this inaugural category for their enlightened engagement of the Sculptors’ Society of Irelandto commission sculpture and art pieces for the landscape in Park West - a modern business park situated in west Dublin.

The result is an environment which is visually rewarding; it stimulates those who work in or visit

the park and reassures them that the artistic spirits were catered for in addition to the economic one.

This almost holistic approach to planning was deemed by the judges to be what commissioning was all about "using art to completely change what would ordinarily be considered a rather clinical landscape and in the process, transforming the individual's experience of their working life for the better."
