Wave is a twisting, 129ft-tall, moving spiral inspired by Islamic calligraphy and saplings blowing in the wind.

The tip of the sculpture, which is not powered by any motors, can sway up to 20ft in the wind and returns to its central position by way of an underground 10 tonne lead counterweight.

An accomplished portraitist, Angela Conner's abstract designs utilize natural forces such as wind, water and gravity to add movement to her work.

Wave is one of several kinetic sculptures sited as Park West in Dublin.
